Optimizing the conditions of anaerobic fermentation in pig manure to produce volatile fatty acids and its efficiency in killing root-knot nematodes

To concurrently control root-knot nematodes and treat pig manure further clarify the mechanism of anaerobic digestion slurries on nematodes, optimal conditions for producing volatile fatty acids (VFAs) were studied, relationship between carboxyl group in fermentation mortality rate was also researched. When condition parameters set as initial pH=10.0, temperature 25 °C, total solid (TS) loading 15%, largest quantity VFA production obtained through orthogonal experiments range analyses. concentration slurry enhanced to 3.2 g/L, nematode up 43.3% significantly different from that control. However, after reached 4.3 no significant difference observed treatments with even higher concentrations VFA. This indicated exhibited a limited kill nematodes. The results this study provide theoretical basis acid applications.
